FAQs
Where do you source your cacao from, and does it matter?
We source our cacao from Soconusco, Chiapas, known as the birthplace of cacao. Here, our cacao is hand processed in the ways indigenous Mayans have been making cacao for centuries into a thick 100% cacao paste.
What makes your ceremonial cacao paste different from cacao powder?
Cacao powder is essentially stripped of its fat components (cacao butter) and undergoes a commercial process which often under-roasts or over-processes, resulting in a loss of nearly all ceremonial benefits. We find cacao powder lacks the potency and nutrition of whole bean cacao paste, We don’t recommended!
